Here is a Substantial and Ornamental Wine Funnel Stand or Tray made in 1818 by the Noted Scottish Silversmith, John MACKAY of Edinburgh, in Fully Hallmarked Sterling Silver. The Wine Funnel Stand features a Handsome Gadroon Edge with Four Floral Points and it is Free of Engraving. The Hallmarks Shown are the Maker's Mark "JMc" for John MACKAY, the Thistle Guarantee Mark for Scottish Sterling Silver, the Castle town mark for Edinburgh, the Date Letter "M" for 1818 and the Duty Mark the Head of King George the Third. This Fine Old Wine Funnel Stand Measures 4¼ Inches in Diameter (10.5 cms) and 3½ Inches Interior Rim (9 cms) and it weighs 2.7 ozs (74 grams) of Hallmarked Scottish Sterling Silver.
