Each handle is decorated with raised shell accents and pretty scroll details. The front of each handle is hand engraved with a crest featuring a dog or perhaps a wolf.
The back of each handle bears the tree, fish and bell mark for the city of Glasgow, the rampant lion mark for sterling silver purity, a date letter M for the year 1857 a duty mark of Queen Victoria's head and a maker's mark for John Murray. One of the spoons has a date letter I for the year 1853. This set is in excellent condition for its age and the designs are crisp.
Two of the bowls have small dents. Weight: 91 grams or 3.2 ounces.
