Antique 1822 Scottish Sterling Silver Cream or Sauce Ladle Snake in Tower Crest. Presented is an antique, Scottish sterling silver cream or small sauce/gravy ladle made by John Millidge of Edinburgh in 1822. This Georgian, 19th century piece is done in a classic Fiddle pattern. The front of the handle has a very interesting crest of a crowned bird/ raptor in a tower. The back is marked with the three tower mark for Edinburgh, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter q for the year 1822, a duty mark of the king's head and a maker's mark for John Millidge.This piece is in excellent overall condition.
