Presented is a lovely antique Scottish sterling silver, agate and citrine pin or brooch, dating to the mid 1800s. The brooch is made in a classic round floral form, with half moons of blue lace agate on each'petal' and a large round cut citrine in the center. The citrine measures about 22 millimeters in diameter and is about 28 carats in weight. The silver is finely hand engraved, with little bright cut flourishes between the stones. The pin has a rollover style safety clasp, which is a modern replacement, but well done and quite secure. This piece is in great condition. The stones are well set and are all in great shape except one of the crescents which has a minor chip, very hard to notice. This piece is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be sterling silver.
The pin came to us in a lot of Scottish sterling jewelry, some hallmarked, so we have no doubts it is of the same type. The pin measures about 1 ½ inches in diameter. This pin weighs 19.7 grams. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
