Presented is a wonderful antique Scottish sterling silver and agate bracelet, dating to around the 1840s-1870s. The bracelet consists of cylindrical beads in various natural colors of agate, with striking speckling or marbling for contrast, mostly in red and brown/buff shades. The bead are oriented vertically and drilled through at two points, with silver chain links in between-the overall effect is like a bridge or ladder. This a lovely and unique piece. I've seen plenty of Scottish agate bracelets, even with tube beads, but ones with this vertical layout seem to be rather rare. The bracelet has a tab insert style box clasp, in a wide shape that makes the bracelet easy to put on. This piece is in excellent condition. The stones are all intact. The clasp works well and closes securely.
The bracelet measures about 7 5/8 inches long, not including the tab of the clasp, which does not contribute to the overall length. The bracelet is about 3/4 of an inch wide. This bracelet weighs 32.6 grams or 1.1 regular ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
